Treadmill Deck Lubrication

One of the critical maintenance items on treadmills is lubrication of the walking platform/deck.  Some manufacturers use silicone to lube their decks, some use wax and other manufacturers recommend that you do not use any type of lubrication on the deck.  You need to read your owners manual and make sure that you follow the instructions on how to lube the deck, what to use and how often.  If it recommends using silicone you should only use silicone that is specifically identified to be used on treadmills.  Do not use WD-40, oil, or spray silicone.
